Woman reunited with her dog after couple allegedly stole it

A woman says she is overjoyed that her dog is home after a couple allegedly stole it from her backyard, drove the dog to Florida and then gave it back.

We first told you this story on Memorial Day when Micalea Ramey contacted Channel 2's Tom Jones about her stolen dog. She said people shared the report on social media and the family of the couple who took the pit bull mix saw it.

She then traveled to Florida, where she and Pakka were reunited.

"I feel like this is a second chance to show her that much more how much she is loved," Ramey said.

Ramey said the family of the couple wanted to return Pakka. They said they were told the dog was being abused and that's why the couple took her.

When they saw the news report, they realized that wasn't true.

"They said they were sorry," Ramey said.

The family of the couple who took her made arrangements to meet Ramey in Jacksonville. That's when Ramey saw Pakka and Pakka saw Ramey.

"When she saw me, she jumped up. She almost jumped over me with so much joy," Ramey said.

Ramey said Pakka is treated like a member of the family. She said the couple had other more reasonable options if they truly thought Pakka was in danger.

"If you feel a dog is mistreated, you don't take them. You call animal control," she said.

The family repeatedly asked Ramey not to press charges. Ramey said there was a lot of intrigue and suspense surrounding getting Pakka back. She said it was like something out of a movie.

Ramey doesn't plan to press charges. She said the couple who took her dog looked her up on Facebook and saw she was a dog lover, and that contributed to them wanting to give her back.

Crooks pull off $100K ‘Mission: Impossible’-style theft at Best Buy

They reportedly came through a hole in the ceiling, rappelling into a Best Buy in Dunwoody, Georgia, like Tom Cruise’s character famously did in “Mission: Impossible.”

Dunwoody police said the burglars made their way to a secure storage area at the store where Apple products were kept and cleaned it out. The theft, which happened June 8, was worth more than $100,000.

"Someone that comes in, it's a 'Mission Impossible' style burglary," Sgt. Robert Parsons said

No arrests have been made, and the details of the sophisticated heist from the store near Perimeter Mall have investigators wondering if it was related to similar cases in other states, including Texas.

Former patient urges judge not to reinstate dancing doctor's medical license

One of the dancing doctor's patients is publicly urging a Fulton County judge to refuse to reinstate Dr. Windell Boutte's her license.

"She's never taken the fall. She wouldn't accept accountability for her actions. It wasn't the board who put us here. It was you," said former Boutte patient Christina Turner.

The Georgia Composite Medical Board ruled the care that left Turner permanently scarred was a "failure."

Turner's is one of seven cases cited by the board in suspending Boutte's license June 7.

Lawyer Chloe Dallaire showed Channel 2's Jim Strickland the type of compression garment Turner had to wear after liposuction.

Dallaire says it likely choked off blood supply and eventually killed large sections of skin.

"I think that the AG will need to show that (Boutte) presents an on-going threat to the general population," said Dallaire.

More lawsuits are mounting.

"We put her and her insurance company on notice of at least six other claims. People who have called us after these stories, people who've been seriously injured and would like to take action against Dr. Boutte," said Dallaire.

Attorney Susan Witt expects to file an additional lawsuit tomorrow, and has filed Notices of Claim on 13 more cases.

One of them is Latoyah Archine Rideau, the woman who identified herself to Strickland as the woman on the table in Boutte's infamous "Cut It" music video.

2 siblings killed in crash on way to summer camp, 2 others survive

A family of five is suffering a huge loss after two siblings from Cobb County were killed in a car crash on the way to a summer camp. Two others are still in the hospital after a mother and daughter were airlifted from the horrible scene.

Friends said the mom identified as Natalia Anggreani has a broken neck and broken ribs, and her oldest daughter, 17-year-old Jessica Wolwark, has torn ligaments in her arm.

South Carolina Highway Patrol said they are still investigating what caused a deadly single car crash Saturday morning in Anderson County, South Carolina.

A Chevy SUV with four family members inside overturned on I-85. A state trooper said two passengers in the back were not wearing seat belts and were ejected.

"I just got out," East Carolina University nursing student Sarah Eagle said.

Eagle was driving by, and stopped the car. She focused her attention on 15-year-old Kirana Wolwark, alongside military doctors, an emergency room nurse practitioner and a nurse who all stopped to help.

“I had my hand on her chest to be able to feel if she was breathing or not then all of a sudden she just gasped really hard," Eagle said.

The deputy coroner said Kirana Wolwark and her 12-year-old brother, Nathan Wolwark, later died.

Eagle said she just wanted to provide the family comfort in their time of desperate need.

“This mother can't be there for her children right now, and someone needs to be," Eagle said.

The siblings’ oldest brother, Nickolas Wolwark, stayed back at their Kennesaw home. He told Channel 2 Action News he could not make sense of the tragedy.

“I immediately broke down. My mind was like this can’t be real. This is not real at all,” Nickolas Wolwark said.

Nickolas said his siblings who died were tired from waking up early and were sleeping.

“Always wear a seat belt and make sure to keep your loved ones (are) safe and cherish them as long as you can,” Nickolas Wolwark said.

The cause of the crash is unknown, and a family friend told Channel 2 Action News the family does not have insurance.

Identical twins accused of armed robberies across the metro speak exclusively to Channel 2

Identical twins are in jail, charged with terrorizing people across Atlanta.

We mapped six of the robberies they're accused of, but investigators say there could be more.

Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne spoke with Marquavious and Juntavious Burton, both 20-years-old, exclusively in jail where he learned both are convicted felons.

"I'm going through a regular situation anybody else would go through. Anybody whose been arrested and accused of a bunch of crimes. I ain't perfect," said Marquavious Bur

Atlanta police Maj. Rick Mason said the 20-year-old twins bear a striking similarity most twins don't: Charges for a crime spree including eight armed robberies in roughly the last two weeks of May.

“They have shot at two individuals. Two of the victims,” Mason said.

Records indicate the Burtons are accused of shooting at robbery victim Paul Sullivan. Sullivan spoke to Channel 2's Matt Johnson just this past month.

"I shouldn't even be standing here, honestly. I'm in shock," Sullivan said.

Records indicate JuntaviousBurton had been arrested March 4 for probation violation, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, hit-and-run and a firearms charge.

A document stamped Feb. 26 indicates Marquavious Burton got five years suspended and five years probation for theft by receiving and two firearms charges.

Fulton County Sheriff's Lt. Derrick Paige said the twins were on opposite ends of the same floor in the jail. Paige added it is highly unusual to see twins on the same case.

"There's that connection between twins," Marquavious Burton said, adding that it's hard to be separated but he will get used to it.

Mom says son told her 2 fellow campers sexually assaulted him at city-run camp

Roswell police are investigating allegations two kids assaulted a little boy at a city-run day camp.

The 5-year-old boy's mother said he attended the city camp last week at a Roswell park, and complained about some discomfort when he arrived home. She took him to the doctor and was shocked at the diagnosis.

"I just want justice for my own kid,” the mother said.

The Roswell woman wants answers after she said her son claimed two campers sexually assaulted him.

(Channel 2 Action News has decided not to identify the woman to protect the identity of her son.)

"I never thought this would happen to a 5-year-old," the woman said.

She said she took the boy to Children's Healthcare, where doctors concurred there was possible sex abuse.

"He's not really sleeping good through the night. He got very quiet now. He's not really like the same. It just breaks my heart. It's very sad,” the mother said.

Roswell police confirmed they've launched an investigation.

In a letter sent home to camp parents, the director said they are fully cooperating with detectives. The letter stated:

"After 15 years with this department and having two children of my own that participate in camps and programs, I am confident in the quality of our programs. (We) take our jobs and your children very seriously and want each of you to know that your children are treated as our own."

"To me I see it as that camp should be closed,” the mother said. "It's not right for other kids to be going in there as well. It's not OK.”

A city spokeswoman told us the camp in question had 12 students in it last week with two counselors.

Police will be interviewing the boy later this week.
