Former Bulldog DB arrested on rape charge

Rambo was standout free safety

Former Georgia Bulldog defensive back Bacarri Rambo has been arrested on rape charges in Athens. Rambo, who had sixteen career interceptions to tie for the all-time lead among Georgia Bulldog players, was booked into the Clarke County jail late Monday night. Specifics of the allegations against Rambo were not immediately known.

Rambo, who last played for the Bulldogs in 2012, worked most recently as a graduate assistant on the Bulldog football coaching staff. He was an All-American and a sixth round pick in the 2013 NFL draft, chosen by the Washington Redskins. The 29 year-old Rambo played his high school football at Seminole County High School in Donalsonville.

On June 13, 2020, the ACCPD began an investigation into the rape of a 21-year-old female UGA student, which occurred at a downtown residence. Subsequent to that investigation, police obtained a warrant charging Bacarri Rambo, 29 of Athens, with rape. Rambo was arrested on the warrant on June 15th 2020 and booked into the Clarke County Jail.
