Forecasters say Athens and northeast Georgia could be in for another round of severe weather today. There is a chance of strong thunderstorms with high winds, heavy rain, lightning and hail this afternoon.

We could see more rain and storms this afternoon, just a day after some areas received flooding downpours.

All of north Georgia is under a Level 1 risk for a severe storm, which you could see storms with strong wind gust, hail and heavy downpours.

Here’s what you can expect:

• Storms to arrive in the afternoon, which could be even stronger than Tuesday’s round.
• Entire state of Georgia is under a Level 1 risk for a severe storm.
• More rain is expected later this week
