Mattel introduced Angelou as part of the latest doll in its Inspiring Women Collection.

Angelou was a poet and author who wrote about civil rights and racism.

One of her best-known works is “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” a copy of which comes with the doll, albeit in a doll-sized version.

Angelou’s son Guy Johnson said he is “delighted” that his mother was chosen to be part of the line and hopes that the doll “will inspire new generations of teachers, writers and activists.”

In addition to honoring Angelou, who died in 2014 at the age of 86, Mattel announced that its role models series will have at least 50% of dolls in the line honoring Black, Indigenous and women of color, the “Today” show reported.

While the doll listed on Target’s website for $29.99 was out of stock online, it may be available at brick-and-mortar locations.

Other dolls in the series include Amelia Earhart, Katherine Johnson, Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Sally Ride, Billie Jean King, Ella Fitzgerald, Florence Nightingale and Susan B. Anthony, “Good Morning America” reported.
