Springfield police said Robert Weiser, 45, was delivering pharmaceuticals to the store pharmacy when Tanner Stichka approached his vehicle and an argument between them ended in gunfire, KNWA reported.

Investigators have not said what led to the altercation.

While officers were getting Zeke admitted, a stranger donated $100 for his care. The next day he was picked up by officers and taken to his regular veterinarian, where he was picked up by family.

“Thank you to our community for your care and concern,” the agency said on social media. “Zeke is doing well.”
