UPS to hire 50K workers this week for seasonal employment

UPS is expecting to be busy this holiday season and to help keep up with demand, the delivery company is looking to hire at least 50,000 people as seasonal employees this Friday.

Overall, the company plans to hire more than 100,000 employees for the holidays.

UPS is calling Friday’s hiring blitz “UPS Brown Friday" with hiring events being held at locations across the country.

There will be almost 250 virtual and in-person job fairs this week.

For the hiring events being done virtually, applicants will log into a virtual lobby and be part of an online interview with company human resources representatives.

For the in-person events, masks and social distancing rules will apply with applicants waiting outside the job fair location before being called inside for an interview.

Jobs include full- and part-time positions as package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers.
