Singer Jonah Marais blends lilting pop harmonies with dance and electronic influences. It's an infectious style he first showcased with the band Why Don't We before going solo with 2024's The Jonah Marais Mixtape and singles like "Slow Motion."
Born in 1998, Marais grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, where he played music and sang in church. He eventually taught himself how to play piano and started posting songs online while still in his teens. He was still just 18 when he joined the boy band Why Don't We, touring and recording with the group from 2016 to 2022. He released two albums with the band, 8 Letters and The Good Times and the Bad Ones, both of which reached the Top Ten of the Billboard 200. After Why Don't We went on indefinite hiatus in 2022, Marais embarked on a solo career. In June 2024, he released The Jonah Marais Mixtape EP, which featured the singles "Twisted Lullaby" and "Heaven." A stand-alone single, "Slow Motion" featuring Ryan Lewis, arrived that November. ~ Matt Collar
