Then Athens-Clarke County Police Department tweeted the following regarding traffic accidents on Wednesday’s snow day in Athens.
As of 3:45 pm our men and women in uniform have worked 84 traffic accidents. Thank you for your dedication and service to this community! We also want to thank the men and women of our central communication division who have also worked tirelessly answering those calls.

The department also tweeted out pictures of accidents and road closures throughout the day, warning people to stay off the roads.

Natalie Dale, the spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Transportation says that maintenance crews are out on Wednesday night plowing major roads and adding a new brine mixture. Dale says to expect a refreeze overnight and stay off the roads if you can.
