Birds Eye broccoli tots recalled over possible rock, metal fragments

CHICAGO — If you recently bought frozen broccoli tots, be sure to check your freezer.

In a Friday news release, Conagra Brands said it is recalling some packages of Birds Eye Broccoli Tots because they may contain metal fragments and small rocks.

The recalled 12-ounce packages, which bear case UPC 20-0-14500-00125-6 and item UPC 00-0-14500-00125-2, include the following batch or lot codes and best-by dates:

  • 4715105620, Aug. 19 and 25, 2022
  • 4715104220, Aug. 11 and 12, 2022
  • 4715113720, Nov. 17, 2022
  • 4715113020, Nov. 10, 2022

Conagra, which said it has received two reports of dental damage tied to the recalled products, is working with retailers to remove the items from shelves, according to the news release.

“Consumers who have purchased this product are advised to dispose of it,” the release said. “Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider.”
