First look: ‘Coming 2 America’ images released

‘Coming 2 America’ to be released on Prime Video (NCD)

We’re only a few months away from finding out what has occurred after the storybook ending of “Coming to America.”

Prime Video released the first look at scenes from the upcoming “Coming 2 America.”

Original cast members are reprising their roles: Eddie Murphy (Prince Akeem), Arsenio Hall (Semmi), Shari Headley (Lisa McDowell), Paul Bates (Oha), John Amos (Cleo McDowell) and James Earl Jones (King Jaffe Joffer), Entertainment Weekly reported.

Garcelle Beauvais and Vanessa Bell Calloway are also back, Essence reported.

The storyline follows Prince Akeem getting ready to assume the crown when he learns that he has a son played by Jermaine Fowler. Fowler joins the cast along with Leslie Jones, KiKi Layne, Tracy Morgan, Rick Ross and Wesley Snipes, Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Coming 2 America” will be released on Amazon Prime Video March 5.
