Warner Bros. Animation is in development on a sequel to the animated classic, Variety reported.

The show will star Elizabeth Banks, who will also serve as executive producer, and will take place 30 years after the original show.

The premise is Fred Flintstone’s impending retirement. At the same time, Pebbles, who will be voiced by Banks, is ready to start her own career.

While the Flintstone family is facing lifestyle milestones, so too will Bedrock, the hometown which now shares its name with the new show.

The Stone Age is advancing into what Variety called “a shiny and enlightened new” Bronze Age.

“The Flintstones” premiered in 1960 on ABC as the first prime-time animated series, Entertainment Weekly reported.

It ran for six seasons, according to the show’s IMDB page.

This isn’t the first time there’s been a spinoff from the original Bedrock show. There have been several live-action movies in addition to shows like, “The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show,” “The Flintstone Comedy Hour” and “The Flintstone Kids,” according to ScreenRant.
