The “Soul Survivor” rapper, 43, and “The Real” co-host were married on March 27, exactly one year after the couple became engaged, the magazine reported.

The couple originally wanted to get married at Lake Como in southern France, but COVID-19 restrictions made that impossible, according to Vogue.

“We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate,” Mai told the magazine. “But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a ‘mini-mony,’ where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”

People confirmed on Wednesday that the couple had applied for a marriage license in Georgia through the Fulton County Court Clerk. In Georgia, marriage licenses are valid for up to six months after the date of issuance.

Mai wore a custom nude Galia Lahav gown with a sheer bodice for the ceremony, People reported. She also wore a handmade headpiece and a 15-foot Galia Lahav veil, the magazine reported.

Jeezy wore a champagne blush Teofilo Flor suit, Vogue reported. Guests, who were tested for COVID-19 before the ceremony, were asked to wear off-white, which represents what the couple called “peace in their union,” according to the magazine.

During the ceremony, Mai honored her heritage by incorporating a Vietnamese tea ceremony led by her brother, E! Online reported.

“In this ceremony, we honored our parents by pouring tea as a gesture to welcome Jeezy into my family, and me into his,” Mai told Vogue. “Then we paid our respects to our parents and ancestors by bowing four times, each one symbolizing a significant gift in the life that they have provided us with.”

Jeezy proposed during a “surprise quarantine date” at his Los Angeles home, a representative for Mai told People last year.
